OMG... its the 100th post... i have never thought that this blog will grow so much and survive so long... and for the 100th post, i have my selangor open post about the stuff that happened there that can be said
I’m back from Malaysia with many stories that can’t be spoken and new experience that are priceless…
Day one… 13th march… [Friday the 13th]
After fencing on wed and Thursday, my fencing stuff was not really ready for packing the night before and thus I spent the morning packing for the trip that I will be going for the day itself… talk about last min packing… after that’s done, I had lunch and went down to Newton circle to meet up with the others.. But it was freaking raining… so I could not walk down to take the 167 there [saving me money] and I had to take 163 change to 162 to get to Newton circle… WA… Friday the 13th really bad luck leh…after reaching and waiting for everyone we got on the striking PINK bus off to the crossway
After entering Malaysia, it’s the boring bus ride to KL… along the way, I got to know my roommates Willie and Marc, VJC girls Annabelle, Celine and Sofia, Debbie, Thierry and the little kid better… the random talks we had in the bus raged from the pets we kept to strange stuff we seen and then to the otaku talk towards the end… Friday the 13 really hit in when the air con in the bus broke down on the high way and we were roasting for close to 1n hour and half before reaching the hotel… also I must add in that the bus driver went to the wrong hotel and we must waste some more time to get to the right hotel... after getting our keys and putting our stuff into our room [1402], we went down to wait for Joseph… everyone was down already and yet he is not there yet… I had to go up and get him down… it’s all Joseph’s fault
under boss Joseph and john, we went to eat Iran food which I enjoyed… after the VJC people left, Joseph and John had the idea of going down to china town to shop, am alright with it and so is Debbie, so we went back to the hotel to put our stuff like wallets and phones down so we are not robbed… on our way down, Marc joined us and we went down to china town via cab… to our horror, its closing down for the night… wth, we went down for nothing… so we decided to walk back to the hotel since it’s not that far away… asking directions from people we made our slow way back to the hotel going through a dark back road[ it’s all Joseph’s fault] and after 30mins of walking, we got back to the hotel… along the way, we were scared of being attacked... so i had this line," we are all well versed in armed combat, y should we be scared???" point to note, we were unarmed... haha
with Joseph and John having competition tomorrow, they went back to sleep while Marc and me went back into our room to find Willie and Thierry playing L4D… after bathing, we played a game of poker with chips that Willie brought from Singapore… after a few games, Marc was out of chips[cause I was winning] then Willie went all in, Thierry and I dunno what to do… follow or back out… in the end we play safe and back out… he did not have that good of a hand but he was playing on psycho to win… after a few more games, he went all in AGAIN… I decided to follow with him and his 12mill [chip money] bet… he had NOTHING and I won with an 8 pair… LOL… it was damn funny
that’s it for day one, the two guys plan to go out shopping the next day while I’m going down to support the CJC girls as well as the FM fencers
Day 2…14th march
Since when I slept, it’s already the 14th, I will talk about my sleep there… I can remember that someone was breathing really loudly[marc] and someone’s phone when off at 4am in the morning… and when my sleep was getting good, morning call came to wake me up [the other 2 not planning to wake up]… I got myself ready and when down for breakfast at 6am…coach said that it starts at 6, so there I was… and there I was alone for 15mins drinking tea waiting for others to arrive… breakfast was entertaining hearing Jiunn Chyau talking about their night and what an ass Joseph was… as I was done with my breakfast, I went up to get Irvin [little kid] down as he was competing that day… also I took my epee and body wire down to lent Megan as her spare blade… back down, coach saw me with my blade and went “Meng, you know you are competing tomorrow right?”this, and the same question that the AC people asked as well was the VJ girls… never see people lending spare blade before meh???
The trip to the competition venue was really long and I have given up on visiting my Jrs at their hotel there… the sight that hit me when I entered the sports hall was the sight of only 7 strips to fence on… THAT’S TOO DAMN LITTLE… and then there is the sea of blue in at the end that is so CJ...
Male foil was up first and I was roped in my Joseph to film the Joseph series and show the world his trip up to get the gold medal… his polls went well and its confirmed that he will make it into DE… so after it finished, at 10++ I went around cheering the other FM and CJC fencers fencing foil at the point in time… female epee soon started and I was roped in [again] to film Steph and Annabelle[same polls] with my cam… all this really made me wanna fence and can’t wait for the next day so that I can fence… this duty ended at close to 2pm, female epee matches can be so ever slow, and I could finally have my lunch… YAAAA… and also laugh at Joseph at Y he is not fencing yet… he,waited till 3 plus before he could fence in the round of 64… his ranking was 31 and he is fencing the 34th fencer… the match was not really that exciting but we all wanted him to win… cause if he did, than we can watch him fence[and lose] to the rank 2nd fencer…HAHA… also in females epee, the Li fang and Annabelle was a match that I wanna watch… to see another CJ-VJ match is always nice… it was close but CJC’s Li Fang won and went into the round of 16 to faced a Singapore Nat fencer which she loss 8-15… but to get 8 points off a Nat fencer is really good already
With that, all CJC girls were out of the competition, which was better than last year where we didn’t even made it pass first DE… now we were waiting for Joseph and his match with the Thai Nat fencer ranked 2nd… Joseph got beaten 8-15 and we can finally go back to the hotel for dinner and whatever shit planned out…
Dinner at some place with free flow bread… and all the crap about this name card we got about a shady place… nothing much[that can be said] happened the after dinner activities are much better…
The VJC girls came over to my room to scold the VJC guys for not going down to support them as well as take my laptop to watch anime … when we enter my room, the guys were sleeping already, and it’s not even 10pm… wth… so everything was fast and the girls got out before I went to bath… I’m not going to sleep at 10pm there and went over to the girl’s room to join them in watching anime… we were interrupted by the other guys we looked at me with those strange eyes asking what I was doing in the girl’s room… haha… after this happened a few more times, I went over to their room to play cards and mahjong as there were short of 1 person… after my 2 day mahjong course during CNY, this is the first time I played it with others… and I think I did quite well, winning abit towards the end… after Mattew didn’t want to play anymore, we went to play asshole big 2 with the others in the room[Sofia and Celine came over too so the group is quite big] till 1am where I went to sleep to get ready for the next day’s competition…
